Apparently the huge deal about Alien Workshop back in the day was that it was one of the first major skateboard brands to be based outside of California. If you think of it, that's pretty good business strategy. Chances are you will appeal to all the other skate shops outside of CA as well.

But here is a little secret: Alien Workshop makes really good boards. Over the past 11 years we have never heard any of our customers complain about Alien Workshop boards. The have great shapes and excellent durability. We suggest you try one.

History

The name Alien Workshop came from the owner's friend who ran a BBS about UFOs and Alien encounters. One of the big topics on this BBS was that certain fighter aircraft like the Stealth Bomber were made in secret "Alien Workshops".

The owners of Alien Workshop decided to start their company in Ohio because it was less expensive that California and the owners were from Ohio.

They chose Neil Blender as the original artist for most of the skateboard decks. And as most early skateboard companies spent their time doing counterfeit logos, Alien spent most of their time doing Alien and UFO related artwork instead. This helped sales because people other than skateboarders were buying Alien Workshop clothing and merchandise.

The boards are great they have the best pop of all the brands I have tried. Has a perfect concave because it is not to deep and is is not mellow it is right in the middle. All the Alien Workshop boards that I have tried or my friends have tried last long and it it always feels good when riding and they are never heavy. That is why in the future i wish i can get sponsored by Alien Workshop cause of there great boards.

I have heard that alien workshop boards are kind of flat, but they are good, they last pretty long, and have good pop, and other. The only thing is that they don't have a lot of concave. That's what I have to say about them.

Ive personally never had a workshop board but my friend drew did and his ollies were at least a foot higher than his usuall ollies so I think a workshop board might be my next board
