Fela Kuti was probably as popular, powerful and passionate as Bob Marley was to the rest of the world. For some reason he never caught on in America like
Marley did. Fela Kuti was a strong politcal activist and had ties to the Black Panther party in America. He was extremely critical of most African governments
and wanted to unite Africa into one nation. The genre of music he played is called "Afro Beat" and is refreshing delight to all the shit they play on
the radio these days...
