How to build a complete skateboard - Page 2
4. Tighten the bolts.
We recommend getting a skate tool if you don't have one already. Check out our skateboard tool selection here (click here). If you do not have a skate tool any wrench or appropriate socket will work. While holding your screwdriver still, tighten you bolts by turning your nut. If you tighten your bolts by turning your screwdriver you will strip your bolts. Nut and bolts were designed to be tighten by the nut.
5. Tighten your bolts in a cross pattern.
Start by tightening any bolt you want. The next bolt you tighten should be diagonally across from the first bolt you tightened. The third bolt you tighten should be the bolt clostest to the first bolt you tightened. Finally, tighten the last bolt. One you have finished mounting one truck repeat the same process for the other truck.
6. Insert your bearings into your wheels.
Don't waste your time trying to put your bearings on by pressing them in by hand. Unscrew your axle nut on your truck and remove the speed washers. Next, slide one bearing on to the axle.
