Skateboard Trucks
Independent Trucks are known for their strength, durability and robustness. There is a common misconception
that Independent Trucks are heavy. The truth is that Independent Trucks are only about 1 ounce heavier than the
supposed "lighter" trucks like Venture Trucks and Thunder Trucks. Independent Trucks are very popular and have been
around for more than 25 years. Indepedent Trucks are also knowns as "Indys".
Venture Trucks are another very popular truck and are thought to be a light truck. Venture trucks are known for
their turning abilities and nice grinding aluminum hanger. Venture trucks come in many color schemes and also
come in both a high and low profile. As for widths, Venture trucks have a 5.0" hanger for your typical 7.5"
to 7.75" skateboardand a 5.25" hanger for your 8" wide or wider skateboards. Ventures are El Skate Shop's favorite truck.
Over the past few years, Thunder Trucks have been the most popular truck with local (Huntington Beach, CA)
skateboarders. Thunders are also known to turn well, and have a bushing that doesn't seem to need much breaking
in. That tends to be an important feature for skaters. If you get a new pair of trucks, you want to skate right away
and be right back at your level without having to wait to break in your trucks.
Krux Trucks makes a very sturdy truck and has a pretty kick ass team. The nice thing about Krux trucks is that they
also serve as a bottle opener. If you look at a Krux Truck you will notice an opening in the hanger, that's where
the bottle opener is.
Destructo Trucks are guaranteed for life. If you ever break your Destructo Trucks, you can simply return them to
Destructos and there is a good chance that you will get a replacement, assuming you didn't purposely try to break the
trucks. Destructo Trucks has earned a lot of popularity since Bam Margera and Mike Vallely are both on the Destructo team.
Royal Trucks are favored by people who like to ride Girl and Chocolate Skateboards. The nice thing about Royal Trucks
are that they are easier to install on a skateboard because they tend to have more room for nut accessing around the baseplate.
Yeah I know that was funny. However, we have had limited responses of whether or not customers liked Royal Trucks.
I guess that means they were fine because no one has complained.
Webb Trucks offer the "Smith Bar" which is designed for smith grinds. Webb is a smaller truck company that is made in the U.S.A.
We normally do not carry Web Trucks, but we can get them if you allow one extra day for procurement.
Grindking Trucks offer many styles of trucks. The Grindking AXL truck is very light and offers an impossible
to slip "V-Beam". Most Grindking Trucks use very little aluminum in order to keep the truck light. The Grindking
kingpin is guaranteed to last 300 years or that is what I saw in an advertisement once. Grindking tries very hard to
make new innovative trucks, like their titanium truck. They also make special color schemes like: rasta, american,
mexican you name it they probably have a color scheme that fits your personality. Finally they also have a signature
Jay Adams trucks for Pool Skaters and/or Old Schoolers.
